On Friday the 27th of October we held our first ever UV Party! This was held as a joint event with the local Churches in the area (Great Shelford Free Church, St Andrew's Stapleford and All Saints Little Shelford) and Romsey Mill. As an alternative Halloween party, celebrating light and not darkness.
Now you might be thinking 'what on earth is a UV Party?' Well it's relatively simple, it involves lots of UV lights and then as many glowing/neon items as possible. We had glowing dodgeball, glowing table tennis, we has white T-Shirt painting, glowing face paint, glow sticks etc etc. Pretty much anything that glowed, we had it!
Over 60 young people attended the event and the atmosphere inside was electric, lots of food, drinks and sweets where eaten. Many Goomba's where squished in Super Mario on the SNES, all our dodgeballs fell apart from the sheer volume of use. A few rude things where drawn on peoples T-Shirts and an outrageous laugh was had by all.
We had a short quiet time where Josh from All Saints shared a short message about the Christian Faith. Our pumpkin contest was won with a great glowing face from one of our young people and we even managed to fit in a birthday celebration with cake!!
